Q. How do i use Dreamweaver to upload and update my website?
A. Dreamweaver works almost exactly the same as FrontPage
Uploading to your site
first you must set up the site and LOCAL info
goto edit sites and click on new and then select the site
you need to set up and then press edit and you should get
the LOCAL INFO box
on it it says site name and you need to put in this your own
description on the site ( i.e mysite ) and then it says
LOCAL ROOT FOLDER
this MUST be set to where your dreamweaver files are the box
refresh local files automatically must be ticked
now you need to set up REMOTE info
In the "Access " box Select FTP. Enter your FTP Account
FTP Host: either the IP (as shown below) or ftp.your-domain-name
Host Directory for cpanel this will be PUBLIC_HTML/ and
for PLESK it will be HTTPDOCS/
User: your-user-name
Pass: your-password
Once you have entered your FTP account information, please
then click on OK.
You have now set up the remote location!
You must now upload your site to our servers
